Confused Pet Day

A play by Sophie

Characters:  Sylvia, Ted, Julie, Tedd, Ensemble, Lily, Josie, Buddy, Ms. Beach and Narrator

   Narrator

One sunny day as Ted,  Julie, Tedd, Lily, Josie, were playing jump rope, running, and doing different activities, Sylvia came up to them.

        Sylvia

“Hey Guys.” “I just bought this new dog and I called him Buddy!” “Today was the perfect day!”

        Lily

“The perfect day for what, Sylvia?” 

        Sylvia

“The perfect day for Buddy.” “ He is going to be great for pet day today!” “I just can’t stand still.”

        Tedd

“Whoa whoa whoa whoa!” “Sylvia you might be excited but pet day is tomorrow ” “You mean you can’t wait for tomorrow.”

        Josie

“Ya, I agree with Tedd.” “You mean tomorrow”

Ensemble: Ring!!!! Ring!!!! Ring!!!!

        Narrator

The kids rang quickly and scurried worriedly, as the bell rang. Sylvia was carrying Buddy in her arms and squeezed him so hard that he almost had no breath. She wanted to make sure Buddy would not slip out of her arms because Buddy was a very curious dog. He had the chance to but she a gain squeezed him.

        

        Ms. Beach

Okay class. Open up your math book to page 346 and 347. Now, I want you to get blank lined paper and work on the problems. When you are done with that just take out your book and read.

        Narrator

Ted and Tedd both raised their hands to ask Ms. Beach when pet day was coming up.

            Ms.Beach

Yes, Ted do you have a question about the question you are working on?

        Ted

Actually, Ms.Beach it’s not about math it’s about pet day.

            Ms. Beach

Yes Ted? What about pet day?

Ted

When is it coming up?

Ms. Beach

Oh, pet day is in one month. Is that all?

Ted

Yes ma’am that’s all I need. Thank you.

Ensemble: Ring!!!! Ring!!!! Ring!!!!

Ensemble

 RECESS!!!!!!

Narrator

When the kids came out, all the friends huddled.

Julie

Wow! I guess none of us were right, Sylvia.

Josie and Tedd

Ya. Julie’s right. We’re sorry.

Sylvia

That’s alright. I was wrong too. Let’s just play and have fun. We all will just wait until one month.

Ted, Julie, Josie, Tedd, Lily

Okay, why not?

Ensemble

Hooray!!  And they all waited patiently for pet day. The end
